Anxiety Treatment in Palm Springs, CA

Anxiety has a way of pulling other things in with it. Sleepless nights and panic attacks often trace back to something deeper, like substance use that began as a coping tool, or ongoing stress at home and work.
Anxiety treatment in Palm Springs at Healing Sands is built into a structured residential rehab program designed around each client's full clinical picture, not just a single symptom.
Our intake team looks at substance use history, mental health symptoms, medical needs, and daily functioning. That assessment determines whether detox or residential care is the right starting point, and how anxiety-focused work fits into the treatment plan.

Types of Anxiety Disorders We Treat

Anxiety shows up differently depending on the person. During intake, the clinical team identifies which patterns are present so treatment addresses what is actually happening, not a generic label.

Some clients have lived with constant, chronic anxiety for years, sometimes without other people noticing anything is wrong a pattern often described as high functioning anxiety.

Others experience sudden panic attacks that seem to come out of nowhere. Clients managing generalized anxiety disorder, panic symptoms, or social anxiety disorder alongside substance use receive coordinated care. These are treated as co-occurring disorders, not separate issues.

Types of Anxiety We Treat

Constant, hard-to-control worry about health, finances, or work, often paired with muscle tension, fatigue, and poor sleep.

Sudden attacks of intense fear that may include a racing heart, chest tightness, and shortness of breath.

A strong fear of judgment in social or performance settings that can limit work, relationships, and daily routines.

Intense fear tied to specific triggers or situations, including crowds, public transportation, flying, needles, or heights.

What to Expect in Our Anxiety Treatment

01

Intake Screening & Assessment

Intake starts with a conversation covering anxiety symptoms, substance use history, and medical background. This determines the right level of care.

02

Individualized Treatment Planning

Clinicians turn the assessment into an individualized treatment plan built around each client's symptoms, triggers, and goals.

03

Residential Care

Days include individual therapy, group sessions, and skills practice. Staying on-site removes daily triggers, so you can focus fully on treatment.

Anxiety treatment runs alongside the level of care identified during assessment. Clients whose anxiety is tied to substance use and withdrawal may begin with clinically managed withdrawal support before moving into residential treatment.

As residential treatment nears completion, step-down support continues the same anxiety-focused work at a lower level of structure.

Planning starts early and includes relapse prevention, outpatient referrals, and a realistic plan for managing anxiety after treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes this anxiety treatment program different?

A boutique-sized rehab means closer clinical attention. Anxiety is treated alongside substance use, depression, trauma, or grief, not as an isolated symptom.

Client information is protected under HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, which sets strict federal privacy rules for substance use and mental health treatment records. Information is not shared with employers, family members, or outside parties without written consent, except where required by law.

No referral is required. Clients can reach out directly, and the intake team completes a screening and assessment to determine an appropriate level of care based on symptoms, history, and clinical need.

Availability of virtual sessions depends on a client's treatment plan and current programming. The admissions team can confirm what formats are currently offered during the intake call.

Family involvement varies by treatment plan and clinical recommendation. When appropriate, and with the client's consent, family sessions or updates can be incorporated into treatment. This is discussed during intake and treatment planning.

If needs change during treatment, like new withdrawal symptoms, the clinical team arranges a transition to a more appropriate level of care, including referral to outside providers when needed.
