Outpatient & Step-Down

Outpatient is for the part of recovery where life is happening again — the job, the school run, the family. The goal isn't more intensity. It's enough structure to keep early sobriety steady while everything else resumes.

Stepping down from residential.

You've finished a residential stay and need a slower re-entry. Outpatient holds the clinical relationships in place while routines, work and home start back up.

Coming in directly, without residential.

For some people — depending on severity, support at home, and clinical assessment — intensive outpatient is the right starting place. It doesn't require a leave of absence.

People we usually see at this level.

People stepping down from residential treatment

Adults who need clinical support but can't pause work, school or caregiving

People rebuilding after a return to use who want structure without leaving home

Anyone whose clinical assessment recommends outpatient as the right starting level

How time is structured here.

01

A weekly rhythm built around your life

Group hours, individual therapy and psychiatric care are scheduled around real obligations — not the other way around.

02

Steady accountability

Check-ins and, where clinically appropriate, drug testing — used as information, not punishment. The relationship is the point.

03

A long-arc plan

Aftercare, alumni connections and a relapse-prevention plan that's specific to your situation, not a printout.

IOP typically runs 8–12 weeks. Standard outpatient often continues for many months. Aftercare and alumni support are open-ended.

From outpatient, many people continue with a primary therapist and the alumni community. There's no required endpoint.

Specific therapies, medications and schedules are built during the clinical assessment — every plan is individual, and we don't list specific modalities here so we don't suggest a fit before we've met you.

Stories from the people we've walked with.

We're collecting and reviewing client stories. They'll appear here once they've been shared with consent.

Asked at this level of care.

How many hours a week is IOP?

Roughly 9–12 clinical hours per week across groups and individual sessions. Standard outpatient is lighter.

Yes — depending on clinical assessment, IOP can be a primary level of care.

Hybrid options exist for some clients depending on clinical fit and state requirements. We'll explain on intake.
